Edinburgh
European Conference on Personality
21 to 24 July 2026
With a long history and hundreds of attendees worldwide, the European Conference on Personality (ECP) is a key biannual meeting of personality researchers.
The 22nd conference (ECP22) will be hosted at the University of Edinburgh, an institution with a rich legacy of psychology research.
Besides cutting-edge research, ECP22 will offer plenty of stimulating discussions and opportunities to meet old friends and colleagues as well as make new ones.
Attractive city
Edinburgh, the capital of Scotland, is an attractive destination due to its rich legacy of culture, science, philosophy, and architecture.
In particular, Edinburgh summers are bustling with life. Right after ECP22, the city hosts the world’s largest performance and art festival, the Fringe, which lasts a whole month. The ECP delegates can already enjoy pre-Fringe events, food courts, and fun activities, adding cultural and social aspects to the conference.
Sights to behold
Famous Scottish landscapes start literally from the middle of Edinburgh, with the conference venue, hotels and dinner beside Holyrood Park and Arthur’s Seat.
And there’s more you can do …

For example, why not go for a proper Scottish Highlands tour after the conference …

… and then return for the Fringe Festival …
